“If I can inspire one and she inspires one… that inspires the world to GREATNESS. That’s being strong.” -Todd Durkin
Fran Avila, CSCS, CPT, CFST
Founder / Owner / FLX Coach / Fascial Stretch Therapist
I began my fitness journey at the age of 13 when my school P.E. teacher decided it would be a good idea to build a weight room for us. Yes, it was a good idea! Not only did it introduce to me the benefits of exercising, but I fell in love with the feeling of moving my body with strength. Today, I bring those transformational experiences of my childhood to coaching people every day.
I believe that success, happiness, and meaningful relationships do not exist without dedication to our health and fitness. I wake up every day with a passion to help people get better at being themselves. For me, being better means setting an example of compassion, integrity and love for my son, being mindfully present when I’m with people, and encouraging myself to dream big…. and, then, getting after it!
I have owned and operated FLX Training for over 10 years. Throughout this time, we have continuously evolved in the process of providing our best possible experience. The one constant has and always will be that we treat everyone with the respect, dignity, and love they need and deserve.
Jan Taylor, CPT
As a holistic health coach, personal trainer, and Pilates instructor, I coach clients on creating meaningful health and fitness goals to optimize their energy and to find peace in their body and mind.
After receiving my master’s degree in communications management from Simmons College, I decided to continue to feed my desire to learn and enrolled in a Pilates teacher training program through Balanced Body. Pilates had become part of my fitness regime upon the advice of a sports nutritionist after having issues training for a half marathon. I was sold; on Pilates and on the idea of helping others with concerns related to health and fitness. I immersed myself in this world and became a licensed personal trainer from ACE Fitness and a holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition; and through my budding yoga practice, I also became increasingly interested in meditation and participated in several mindfulness training programs through PTCI (Personal Transformation Courage Institute).
My desire to share this knowledge and help others find peace in their bodies and minds through movement and nutrition led me to launch my practice, Get Lively: Mindful Health & Fitness Coaching and join the FLX Team.

I have been training in the FLX system for 8 years with Fran Avila. I transitioned into fitness training after a 26-year career in the financial services industry. Having decided to get out from behind a desk and refocus on health and wellness, I pursued certification with NASM in 2015.
I am a native New Englander and enjoy many outdoor activities, including alpine and Nordic skiing, snow shoeing and hiking in the green mountains of Vermont. The approach that FLX uses is ideal for people that enjoy life sports as it provides a great way to continually challenge yourself to increase strength, flexibility and performance so you can get out and do the things you love!
